Taua is based upon Maori tribes belligerence and language. Tokens are called Toa (warrior) and the ensemble of Toa of each Hapu (tribe) is called Taua (army). This cultural aspect in an abstract game is very cool.
This is a multi-version game 9 vs 9; 12 vs 12; or 14 vs 14. The more Toa each Taua has, the more complex it becomes to play and to win. It gets more and more interesting.
Each TAUA game is short but very intense and for those more competitive, that hate to loose, it's very addictive.
