Horrible bloated dice fest with overblown minis. Seriously needs a catch-up mechanism. If you let someone get ahead they not only get more points next round, they also get more power points which makes it easier to stay ahead. Extremely expensive for a box that clearly contains more plastic than game.
The astronomical size/price. While I can appreciate the sheer geekiness of the game, making it oversized and full of plastic brings in a number of practical issues.
The Eldrich tokens are lame. You fight for points (gates), only to have the game determined by who gets the best token draws.
You're probably gonna draw about 6 of these during the game, with values of 1,2, or 3 VP.
If you're unlucky, you're at a huge disadvantage, as the only way to win with bad draws is with a large number of public points --ain't gonna happen.
Players make the game, and if the rest of the board gangs up on you, you won't have much, if any gates to score.
If you're lucky with token draws, your chances go up massively, as having a couple of hidden bonus points is an enormous edge in this type of game.
The finish also feels anti-climatic, as you can't really know when someone has achieved the rather arbitrary victory point condition.
